RDS-Student: Software for Aircraft Design, Sizing, And Performance

This instructional aid and complement to Aircraft Design: A Conceptual Approach, fourth edition, by the same author supports a design and analysis computer program for new and derivative aircraft. The text explains RDS in an overview and provides operation notes for program start, using RDS with Windows, startup problems, file names, data and menu interaction, number entry, units, graph and graph editing, viewing text files, the DOS shell, RDS limitations and the simplifications of "RDS-EX." It then describes the new Design Layout Module (CAD), including operations, component geography and axis system, and main menu. It also describes the modules for functional analysis, aircraft data files, capabilities analysis, sizing and mission analysis, performance analysis and cost analysis.
