Tribal begins with a group of 18-year-old high school leavers meeting up to go on a camping trip into an old, untouched forest. A last adventure before moving on to college or work. Despite the trip being meticulously planned by the leader, Tess, things quickly unravel after an unexpected run in with a mysterious traveller in a nearby town. After being complimented on his tattoos, the friendly stranger offers to give each of the group a free tattoo. There is one condition, the stranger gets to pick the image. They are all very pleased with the startling quality of their new ink, but things spiral quickly of control on the way back to camp. Friendships are tested and old rivalries re-ignited as emotions reach boiling point and the group begin to realise that the friendly stranger was more than he seemed.
