River

Iris Wolfe presents a debut selection of her first poems in, River. Wolfe's River is a romantic and electrifying curation of sentimental and classic contemporary literary works, with a focus on enigmatic mid-long length poems. The depth of Wolfe's spirituality and intellect runs through each chapter, compelling the reader to reflect. Her writing gently guides you towards a peaceful self-discovery, and within every page, she has captured a delightful and mesmerising sense of a beautiful dream. Wolfe's writing resembles the innate beauty of F. Scott Fitzgerald's vision and elegance, and represents a love for olden English literacy. Though, it is undeniably true that River holds a relatability that men and women of all generations may enjoy, draw inspiration from, and dream with.

Iris Wolfe practices Taoist philosophy and the lucky number 8 is reflected in the number of chapters perfectly joined together. In River, Wolfe shares with you, in an inspirational, motivational and uplifting sense, all the ways she held onto strength and courage, to overcome years of adversity. She writes of the greatest loves, her time in Oxford as a university student, and her time in London, by the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. Wolfe shares with you intimate experiences with love lost and forgotten, love destined to be forbidden by society's view towards May-December love. Wolfe hopes that River can promote the journey of self-love, and love for Mother Earth, as well as humanity, freedom and justice. River's poems are empowering, uplifting, sophisticated and aim to move the reader's focus onto growth and positivity.

River is graced with ten vintage French illustrations, via the Met Museum, with a stunning introductory short story entitled: The Dream, which reflects the life of peace and romance Wolfe dreams of. Each chapter page sets the mood for the following text, with a short yet heart-warming caption to yield the senses.

River's cover art is by Claude Monet, 'Argenteuil, Late Afternoon 1872'. "A book should be carried with you to a coffee shop or a train, set upon your coffee table, held in your hand, and gifted to those whom we love. You should enjoy the cover, as well as the contents".
