Journey to Senia

Josh Rinaldi, a first year law student, takes a semester break vacation at Crescent Beach, Florida in 1977. That evening, a mysterious shuttle craft descends from over the ocean and a human-like alien emerges, beckoning him to step aboard. The Senians seek an Earth human to teach them an Earth language so that they can communicate with Earth on their next voyage. Josh willingly boards the craft, embarking on a forty-year journey to the planet Senia, sixteen light years from Earth, and back. He learns how a flying saucer can actually travel through the universe and negotiate the Earth's atmosphere and gravity, and what it is really like to travel through space without time warps, cryogenic suspension, instant interstellar communications, and food replicators. They return to Senia to find the planet threatened by an interstellar nuclear attack from the home planet, Corilia, which seeks to dominate Senia so that it has a base from which to invade Earth. He learns the ways of the Senian people and how they have managed over thousands of years to live in harmony with their environment and each other. He visits the Museum of Earth History on Senia for a glimpse into Earth's Neolithic past. After a spectacular space battle, the Senians return to Earth in the year 2017 to have a dramatic impact on Earth's future.
