Data Protection

This text explains the eight principles of data protection and examines issues such as the individual's right to access in terms of access to personal data, erasure and destruction of information, and the processing of information. Exemptions to the legislation, for instance where disclosure of information is required by law or inhibited for reasons of national security, are also discussed, as are offences such as the selling of data, unlawful disclosure, and the unlawful acquisition and collection of data.
