Can people who have been controlled, oppressed, disappointed, or defeated express themselves? This book doesn't give clear answers to these questions. However, in its pages, those who have experienced subjugation, oppression, disillusionment, and defeat all speak as one voice. Speaking has become necessary for them, a final act of freedom in a world that wants to keep them quiet and suppressed. We find ourselves in an uncertain year, filled with disappointment, much like many other years we've seen.
