31 Days in Kenya: A story about tragedy and triumph while being stranded in a foreign country (English Edition)

A simple cut below the knee while travelling in Tanzania and Ethiopia is all it took. That tiny cut was the catalyst for a series of significant, devastating and inspiring events and experiences that were to befall my father, my brother and myself. It propelled us all down a path of severe, life ending disease, stranded in an African nation alone having to maneuver through the local healthcare system and foreign culture. Set in Nairobi, Kenya this story documents my harrowing experience navigating the place, its people, culture and customs, which are at times enormously frustrating but equally rewarding, humorous and educational. The experience, reaffirmed to us the importance of family and friendships and the intrinsic value of both, but also reaffirmed the inevitability of mortality and how it can strike without warning.

This story is about all of those things but predominantly about the spirit of love, caring, friendship, perseverance and hope.
