Nikolai Rerikh (1874-1947) is widely known as an artist, poet, philosopher, mystic, ethicist, traveler, and diplomat. But his archeological and ethnographic contribution is still little known. This monograph by three Siberial archeologists fills this gap in the biography of Nikolai Rerikh and describes his archeological studies of Central Asia and the Baltic States. This book acquaints readers with the methodology of Rerikh's field archeological research, and shows how archeological work affected Rerikh as an artist and social activist.
