Dear reader,
this is, hopefully, the first book installment in a series brand Facing kNOw (aka Facing No). This volume is intended to spark the interest of students and academics in the areas of interdisciplinary and speculative sciences. The free sample is intended to allow access for students and faculty to judge its merits. International professionals interactive in different intercultural contexts may also find these proposed intercultural / international conflict management postulates relevant and food for intellectual and practical thought.
Volume 1 of the Intercultural Postulate Inventory includes the first 100 proposed postulates and first 10 theoretical models. Likewise, Volume 2 includes the next 100 proposed postulates, as well as the next 10 theoretical models. Volume 3 - under development - follows the same format. Volume 3 of the Facing kNOw series awaits investigative analysis and feedback for its development. Planned Volume 4 and onward cover a variety of interrelated interdisciplinary subjects.
In our international globalizing world, the way we interact and understand the Others who are from another culture / society – in some respects from “another planet”, can effect our lives, careers, and success in various significant ways. The moment things do not go well or the way we expected with “these foreigners” is precisely the junction at which the areas of intercultural communication and international conflict management intersect.
Please consider evaluating and contributing to the next 300 of these postulates (axioms, hypotheses “wannabe laws”). Criticize those that are weak and unconvincing. Confirm, validate, support and elaborate on those that “can hold water”. Either way, as the author, I hope you find these forays into the intercultural unknown of some interest.
