How about the 20-year old New Zealand man who downed more than a bit too much to drink and in fuzzyheaded mind thought it a good idea to climb from his neighbors deck to his own. Besides being ghastly drunk the other flaw in his plan was his neighbor lived on the 15th floor while he lived on the floor below. Of course he fell and yet he lived by landing on the roof of the lower building next door.

I find human behavior amazing, and somewhat frightening, to think about the folks and fools that we pass or interact with on a regular basis.

Given the news recently of suicidal commercial airline pilots and the overwhelming grief they have caused the 113 passengers on an Air India flight must have been terrified. The head male flight attendant was miffed with the co-pilot and started a fight in the cockpit. Within moments the pilot joined the fray and the three men spilled their punch fest out into the plane’s aisles disregarding the safety of the passengers. After ten minutes, either from exhaustion or their collective common sense caught up with the trio they quit. The two pilots landed the plane at the destination. Remarkably, the airline company did not discipline them.

Take the case of the unfortunate Wisconsin woman arrested for drunk driving and being responsible for a two-car crash. Or at least that’s the version the deputy was polishing for public consumption. But when a security camera video popped up proving the cop’s car smashed into her car he had a lot of explaining to do.

Sometimes I think the world was made for dummies. I think this book is a guide to what we all hope to avoid in our own lives and what can only be the very iceberg tip of human stupidity. After all, except for the good decisions we make we too could be the big idiots of hilarious massive blunders.
