PHILIP DRU: Administrator is one of the worst written books you will ever read, BUT it is one of the best book for laying out the Progressive agenda. Philip Dru was written 100 years ago but little did Colonel Edward Mandell House know at that time that his book would playing itself out in real life.

Ideas have consequences. Ideas have staying power. Amongst the oil and ink of Presidential portraits adorning the walls of the White House, one can find the early etchings of former administrations’ ideas that take years, even centuries, to become political realities. So it is that a century ago, in 1912, Woodrow Wilson’s chief political adviser and pedagogue of the Progressive Movement, Edward Mandell House, anonymously penned Philip Dru: Administrator. It is a novel drawn around protagonist General Philip Dru, a war hero cast in the vein of none other than George Washington, battle-glorified and thrust to power on the shoulders of his adoring public to become commander-in-chief. When a schism ruptures between states, the people’s President General Dru leads the Western United States in a civil war against the wealthy, plutocratic East… and becomes Dictator of America.

Like Baby Moses hidden in a basket, Beck sees the ideas of the Progressive Movement of the early 20th Century have been quietly, effectively carried downstream into our present American landscape a century later. To wit, E.M. House’s Philip Dru eerily appears to be an idea factory for actions taken during the Wilson, FDR and Obama presidencies; namely, to transform our nation’s form of government into a dictatorship by slowly and systematically undermining the limited government our Founders gave us, a limited government under the Constitution.

Beck brings this novel to the forefront of the current political crisis because he sees a clear blueprint in Philip Dru with the path the country is heading today. In his eyes, the Progressive agenda is not only alive and well, but actively at work in modern politics. “If you’re looking for a hundred year plan, I think it’s pretty much done. All they need now is a crisis. The Progressives, I believe, have realized their dream.”

On July 15, 2010 Glenn Beck talked about how he stumbled upon a poorly written book that was one of President Woodrow Wilson’s favorite books called Philip Dru: Administrator. “This book is a blueprint for the Progressive agenda .”

It’s this one. It was written in the 1900’s, early 1900’s. It’s called Phillip Dru, Administrator.”
