Marriner Conducts Mozart

An All-Mozart Programme conducted by a guru of the chamber orchestra revival, Sir Neville Marriner.
In the focus of attention of this performance from Lugano is Mozart's Concert for flute, harp and orchestra. It is one of the most popular pieces by Mozart due to its cheerful and lighthearted mood.
The two well-known soloists, Patrick Gallois (flute) and Fabrice Pierre (harp), have taken trouble to work on their joint interpretation, providing some discreet ornamentation to Mozart?s solo lines.
Also presenting two of Mozart?s ?late? masterpieces, the overture to The Magic Flute - a great piece in its own right, reflecting facets of the opera ? and the E flat Symphony, K.543, one of the last of the extraordinary works with which Mozart ended his career as a symphonist.
