For the Merchant Navy convoy crews during World War Two, the Atlantic Ocean is a living hell. If their ship is sunk, the surviving crew face mountainous seas, hunger, thirst, and freezing night-time temperatures in a tiny lifeboat. For many, the end result is a slow lingering death, unless they are lucky enough to be rescued.
This is the story of the crew of the Jersey Lady, a 35,000 ton freighter sunk in the early hours of June 14th 1942, and the subsequent battle of the survivors against the elements.
