It is the year 2016. The various kingdom states of the African Union descend upon Teke, the state capital of Luanda for the coronation ceremony of the new Sovereign under the 10-year rotational power agreement already in place. In this timeline, slavery never takes hold on the African continent with powerful leaders rising up to drive back the marauders from Europe. Tife Berkowitz, daughter to an immigrant man, witnesses the handover ceremony from Queen Yaa Yaa of the Luandan Kingdom to King Dinga of the Zulu Kingdom.

A surprise attack by rebel groups at the coronation leaves several people dead including the new Sovereign, King Dinga. The AU, in conjunction with their Chinese allies, launches a 5- year war campaign against Slovia, the state sponsors of the terrorist groups involved.

Tife is swept into this world of politics and bloodshed when she becomes an Emissary to the Slovian government. She witnesses firsthand the power struggles involved in maintaining powerful domains across the world and has her trust in the Queen she serves tested as her life is placed in mortal danger while dispensing her duties.
