Assassins of Zenobia tells the tale of women throughout time who have been chosen for the sacred duty of Assassin by the spirit of Zenobia, a long-dead War Queen. Every target comes to them in dreams, and each successful kill moves the world of women towards a stronger and safer existence. They find themselves sharing realities; sharing visions, and fighting alongside one another across time, in order to save or kill, the men they love. As Zenobia Wills it, So it is Done.

Inga of Halogaland, a Viking warrior woman and one of the King's sacred Guests has a duty to protect King Logi and his interests above all. In her waking life, she fights for Halogaland, but in her dreams she is one of the legendary Assassins of Zenobia, leading a dual life of duty, purpose, and death. When she dreams of a love she has not yet experienced her journey takes her to Bostad where she meets the timid errand boy for the blacksmith, realizing quickly that he is the very same man she has lived a life with while asleep. Instructed by Zenobia to take his life, she finds that he saves her own when her brother's in arms betray her and leave her for dead.
Resigned to a life of peace and stillness, she falls in love with her target, complicating her future and her duty. Despite this, she knows she must fulfill her oath to both King and Queen, even if they go against each other in every way imaginable.
Will she allow fate to guide her and protect the King from certain death, or will she take up arms against the man she loves as Zenobia has willed it?
