DIRECTIONAL TRADING

Directional trading is when you trade with only one direction in mind. The direction that you choose is based on pe-race research. The betting industry consists of those, who are in the loop and those, who are outside the loop. We (traders) are outside the loop. When you are outside the loop, you can be deceived by those inside the loop. I explain some common forms of market manipulation and how we can avoid losing money to the manipulators.

3. HOW TO TURN AN IDEA INTO A STRATEGY
Developing trading methods involves understanding the difference between an idea and a strategy. The gurus give you ideas and not strategies. However, they refer to these ideas as “strategies”. I explain what we need to do to turn an idea into a strategy.

4. HOW TO READ FORM
Reading form is not difficult. I go in depth on how to read form. For most trading methods, you only need to work with a small amount of form.

5. FORM HORSE OR INSIDE INFORMATION HORSE
Being able to differentiate a form horse from an inside information horse is important. When a horse is an inside information horse, you are definitely outside the loop. This means that is it easy for insiders to trick the market.

6. USING TRADED VOLUME TO PREDICT THE DIRECTION OF THE ODDS
On the internet, most of the bad information on how to trade is associated with volume. Volume can be a useful indicator. However, it is not a strong indicator. I explain how volume can be used.

7. LAY-FIRST TRADING METHODS
A lay-first trading method is when you are laying a drifter. I give you my best 4 lay-first trading methods. I explain exactly how I find candidate horses for these methods.

8. TRAINER BETTING PATTERNS
I explain what trainer betting patterns are and how to find them. A good trainer betting pattern can provide an easy trading method.

9. REDUCING YOUR LEAKS
Poker players use the term “leak” to describe a part of their strategy that consistently leaves money on the table. In trading, we also have leaks. We can all improve in our analysis of a race. This is ongoing learning. The types of leaks, that I will discuss, are those that occur during the implementation of a trade.

THE TRADING GURUS HAVE FAILED
The trading gurus have failed to teach people how to trade. They often promote one-variable strategies, such as trading order flow and trading volume. The key to trading successfully is to put variables together. Certain variables influence the interpretation of other variables.

NO MORE GUESSING
Although I give you some methods, the aim of this book is to get enough knowledge, so that you can go it alone and develop your own trading methods. When you have a few methods under your belt, you will not be tempted to get involved in guessing trades.

WHO SHOULD READ THIS BOOK?
This is not a complete newbies book. I assume that readers are already familiar with a trading ladder, as well as basic trading concepts, such as a back bet, a lay bet, and liability.
