The Eclipse : Prologue of The Tetralogy of the Grail - From the author's novel The Shuttering of the Grail (English Edition)

Based on the novel "The Shattering of the Grail", the work "The Eclipse" is the Prologue of the "Grail Tetralogy". It can therefore be read as an independent artistic work in its own right, although it is so full of content that it is also the inspiring work, the Prologue, of a modern saga. In deliberately hybrid writing, that can be both represented and enjoyed on a literary level, it tells us the story of a man crossed by a tremendous inner conflict, up to lead him to feel in a battle against the forces of evil.
As a counterbalance to this original core, The Eclipse represents the conflicted and passionate story of an impossible love, which can be considered to all intents and purposes the author's "Romeo and Juliet". A work in which the drama of a naive love, pure, youthful, opposed by everything and everyone, is lowered, and then suffered, within a complex thematic fabric, universal, metaphysical, and whose developments, at least on a narrative level, will need, to be told, an entire tetralogy, of which the Eclipse is the core, the original antecedent.
There is a clear reference to Shakespeare's work in the meeting of the two lovers inside a mortuary... but with a dynamic and an outcome that has to be read, precisely because of its reversal of the original work.
The Eclipse is therefore just that, the hard-fought love story, not within a feud between families, but within a scenario as universal as it is apocalyptic. It is the story of impossible love between two solitudes, whose inner life is permeated by omens, daring events, and tormented situations, beyond all limits. In it, Eros appears as a point of conjunction between a private intimist, simple, almost candid, within a collective dimension crossed by terrible forces that bar the way. A work of strong colors, crossed by tension as much ethical as feverish erotic, The Eclipse claims to be a work of art in the round, revealing, through a permanent conflict between good and evil, the darkest corners of being, in a growing tension that runs through the lives of the two protagonists, within a complex drama of rare power. We will follow the vicissitudes, in an unequal and lonely confrontation between their own private life and the apocalypse awakened by their own nature. The protagonist will find the comfort of a woman, animated by his own principles, but this, almost in contrast with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, rather than the end, will be only the beginning of a battle, which in the prologue is shown as accomplished, but it is only the antecedent of events that will happen only many years later. But Eclipse is also and above all one of the most inspired and original love stories of all time, as private as universal, for the depth with which its mystery, revealing itself, will reveal to the same protagonists also their universal dimension.
