This DVD is divided into three sections, each featuring soloists from German ballet companies... Each 25-minute section includes three dances showcasing either Vladimir Malakhov (Berlin State Ballet), Lucia Lacarra (Bavarian State Ballet), or Kiyoko Kimura (Leipzig)... The dancing is beautiful and expressive throughout the 78 minutes of this DVD and offers a nice balance of the classical and modern aspects of ballet. The picture and sound are excellent, with three sound formats available. The picture is 16:9 anamorphic (widescreen). This DVD is a nice introduction to ballet for the uninitiated, an enjoyable potpourri for people familiar with the ballets, and an opportunity to see the work of seven talented dancers in their prime.
