This CD provides an introduction, in words and music, the work of one of the most important composers of the nineteenth century, the Italian Giuseppe Francesco Fortunino Verdi (1813 -1901). Writing in 1871 to celebrate the opening of the Suez Canal, the opera "Aida", brings the conflict of love between the warrior Radames and Aida prisoner-slave, and the passion of the princess, heir to the throne of Egypt, Amneris by Radames. The album, an accompanying explanatory booklet, features narration by David Timson and organizing Thomson Smillie. It's worth checking!
